YOGA FOR THE BACK WORKSHOP
Back pain is the most common reason to seek medical attention. Many conditions cause back pain, ranging from injury to infection to simply twisting the wrong way. Also, both acute and long-term stress can lead to muscle tension and exacerbate back problems. Yoga has consistently been used to reduce stress as well as cure and prevent back pain by enhancing strength and flexibility.
The Yoga for the Back workshop will guide you through different sequences of yoga poses to help reduce stress and to prevent/alleviate back problems. Many changes happen in your body throughout the wonderful process of pregnancy. However, these changes can effect your body in many different ways and cause a host of different symptoms and discomforts.
During this one hour seminar, Dr. Jennifer Smeaton-Fryer will guide you through common structural and physical changes that happen to your body. She will explain why these changes can cause discomfort and pain. As well, she will teach you some helpful ways to minimize your discomfort and stay active leading up to your delivery date.

We are holding a pre-registered Pilates for Beginners Workshop to get you started and introduce you to the practice of pilates. The introductory class will teach you the basics of pilates to help you achieve strength and balance while lengthening and stretching your body from its inner core.You will learn all the basics that will help get you through any class, as well as proper allignment and breathing techniques.
